Pet Professionals Get the Latest Dish on Freshwater Fish
OTTAWA, ON – July 18, 2016 PIJAC Canada (Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council of Canada) is proud to announce the release of their Freshwater Fish Pet Care Training Program.  The sixth and final installment in their Certified Companion Animal Specialist series developed specifically for pet professionals.

Through a fun and quirky FHarmony and Plenty of Freshwater Fish Dating campaign the association looks to use the (sometimes inner) beauty of these aquatic species to engage pet professional and fish enthusiasts across the continent with this easy to use online program.  Members and fish fans everywhere are encouraged to create their own humorous profile to share on PIJAC Canada’s Facebook page for a chance to win or to give away a copy of the program.

“Fresh water fish make amazing pets for people of all ages and backgrounds and have long been a mainstay of our industry.  Caring for these animals takes some special know-how and a well trained staff that can pass along the right information helps ensure happy pet families for generations.”, says Jacynthe Lacroix, Education Coordinator for PIJAC Canada.

With the wild success of Disney’s “Finding Dory”, the industry is working very hard to teach people interested in fish how to select the best species for them, many of whom are beginners.  It’s no secret freshwater fish are great way to start into the hobby.  PIJAC Canada’s program is an extremely affordable and comprehensive way to ensure staff is up to speed on fish care.

The Freshwater Fish program along with canine, feline, reptile, avian and small mammal specialities can be found on the PIJAC Canada website under Programs.  “We run this program on a break even basis. Our goal is not to turn a profit, but to educate as many people as possible about proper animal care.  By offering these training options to professionals, we help them to foster positive pet experiences with their clients, ultimately building long term pet relationships.“ say Louis McCann, President of the association.  “A well trained staff, makes for happy, healthy pet families and loyal clients for life”.
